I'm Larisa, I pride myself on being a hard worker and believing you can do anything you set your mind to. I tried a blog once before, it actually was fun and went rather well, however, I had no idea what to talk about! I am trying again with something I have a large amount of experience in, being flat on my back broke. My husband and I got married at 18, in between the time I graduated high school and we got married I became a missionary, and then I became homeless. We started our lives together with nothing and usually had $20 a week for food for us both.
During that time I found that most financial advice is made for people who have finances. Don't eat out, don't splurge on that thing you want, cut the cable...and so on and so forth. When you have $20 a week for food you did not have cable to cut to begin with.
So this blog is written not only for those frugal spenders, but also those learning how to get by, weather it be during your college years, the start of a new marriage, or after a financial hardship. But more importantly it is about knowing that even when you are "barely getting by" you can still count your blessings and be grateful for all you have, physically, or not.
Rice and eggs
$0.43 per serving
This is meant to be an alternative to an unhealthy ramen meal. It is packed with protein and fiber, takes 5 minutes to make, and taste amazing!
+1/2 cup Minute rice (Brown rice) {9 servings $2.50}
+1 raw egg {1 dozen $2}
+1/2 cup of water
Put that water in a pot. Boil it. Awesome, now crack your egg and put it in there, but don't pop the amazing yellow center. Cook the egg till the white is all done. Throw your rice in and stir all that stuff up with your fork. Put heat on low, cover, and come back in 5 minutes. Eat up!
